Brand Story

FENZO HOME, a furniture and everyday-object design brand from Tainan.

From Taiwan. Designed in Tainan.

To Lean On

To lean on

Glasses, earphones and keys are picked up and set down several times a day.

Rather than asking every object to be neatly put away, we choose to define a small space for them on the tabletop.

The coasters and trays of Place No. 1 use low walls and flat bases to mark out a space that is free to use. Things can be set down, moved around, or replaced with something different each day.

To Blend In

To blend in

Dawn, Zenith, Canopy, Night

Many homes today begin with white and gray, paired with pale, warm wood. Once a space feels settled, people start adding a little color through its furnishings.

For Place No. 1, we looked to the light of a day instead of choosing another bright accent. The same space is touched by different light several times throughout the day.

Dawn, high noon, tree shade and midnight each have their own colors. Once the moment passes, those colors disappear.

Place No. 1 keeps these four moments on the tabletop, fitting into a neutral space as if they had always belonged there.

To Stay With

To stay with

Keys in the morning, glasses taken off at night. What rests on the tray changes each day, while the tray stays there, from dawn to midnight.

Days pass. Things change. The object remains.

Both Ways

Both ways

Complexity and simplicity are not opposite ways of life. They are the daily choice of which objects to bring into a space, and how to live with them.

We begin by observing everyday use: how objects are set down and leaned on, how they blend into a space and become companions in life.

We do not prescribe one way for life to look. We leave a choice between complexity and simplicity.

A Place to Gather

A place to gather

“Place” is a kind of gathering.

Objects gather in a space. People gather in life. The routines that repeat each day gather into the shape of a home.

Place No. 1 is the first.

Every place that follows will begin with some complexity or simplicity found in life.
